Air-gapped physical security device · First units estimated 2027

Absolute Offline Security for Cryptographic Credentials.

The completely offline physical security device. No wireless radios, no online connections, just air-gapped local storage.

Why Tevren exists

Two friends, two losses, one month.

We started Tevren after two people we know lost access in the same month. One was a lookalike login page in the browser; the other, a recovery phrase typed into an online note that synced to a cloud account. Neither loss was exotic. Both were ordinary, and both were preventable. Tevren is the device those two should have had: credentials that never leave the hardware, a screen that shows the full picture before anything is authorized, and a recovery kit made of steel because paper burns.

Why follow the build before the first unit ships

100% Air-Gapped

Engineered without Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or NFC to eliminate remote attack vectors.

Secure Element Architecture

Enterprise-grade physical chips protect your local data from physical tampering.

Local Cryptography Only

All data is generated and verified locally on the physical device. Nothing connects to the web.

1,000 units, made first

The opening run is planned for 2027. Update list members will be notified of engineering milestones and shipping dates.

One plain-English engineering note each month, written by the people doing the building: what changed, what slipped, what comes next.

The device

Built for the quiet ways things go wrong

Losses are rarely dramatic. They are slow: a phrase typed into a chat, a confirmation tapped without reading, a backup that lived only in one head. Tevren attacks exactly those points. Credentials never leave the device. Every authorization shows the full details on a screen you can actually read. And the recovery kit is steel you stamp yourself, at your own table.

Questions

Asked, and answered plainly

What exactly does the device do?

It keeps your cryptographic credentials on a separate physical device, away from your phone and your computer. Credentials are generated on the device and never sent anywhere. To authorize anything, you confirm the details on the device screen and the approval is produced locally.

Why does Tevren have no wireless radios?

Because every radio is a door. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC are useful, and each one is an attack surface. Tevren authorizes through a short USB-C connection, and the cable only ever carries validated data - never the credentials.

How does the update list work?

You leave your name and email. We reply within a few days to confirm you are on the list. When the opening run is ready in 2027, we write to list members with engineering milestones and shipping dates. Joining costs nothing, and you can leave the list at any time.

What happens if I lose the device?

The device is not the important part - the recovery phrase is. You stamp the phrase into the included steel kit and keep it somewhere safe. On a new Tevren, the same phrase restores everything.

When exactly does the first run ship?

The opening run of 1,000 units is planned for 2027. We publish the roadmap openly, and if the date moves, the monthly note says so in plain words.

Is the firmware open or closed?

The firmware is published and independently reviewed before the first unit ships. Updates install only after you confirm them on the device itself.
